Auckland City, New Zealand Technical Recruitment Solutions Full time

**The Company**
This is a small yet growing team of technical experts who engineer Industrial Automation and Safety solutions for their clients.

With Directors who own and work in the business, the company culture here is one of ownership, passion for their people, clients, industry, and technology.

This is a real tight-knit team that are adaptable to clients’ needs and deliver custom automation solutions that are both in-step with current technology and push the boundaries.

Mid to large sized manufacturers are their typical clients, but they are generalist, flexible and open-minded in terms of the client industry sectors they will tackle.

This company is well-setup, has existing clients and projects, and new projects bursting onto the horizon. They are stable and growing, an ideal situation for hiring. This leads me to my next point

**Does this sound like you?**
Right now, the focus is on hiring a Senior or Principal-level Safety Engineer to lead the safety engineering part of the business.

You will be leading a couple of Automation Engineers who also work in Machine Safety. In addition to this there are another two engineers with CMSE certification in this area but who are more focused in other areas of the business, hence the need for someone to step in and lead this area.

Ideally, you will be experienced in the whole safety process.

So, your bread & butter will be doing Safety Assessments, Requirement Specifications, Design, Implementation, Testing and Validation, in accordance with AS/NZS 4024 machine safety standards.

**Responsibilities**
- Safety Documentation
- Lead and manage safety engineering projects
- Safety risk assessments, hazard analysis, and safety audits
- Technical guidance and support
- Safety training program development and delivery
- Coordinate with external safety regulators and industry associations
- Incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective actions

**Experience**
- You can capably carry out the _Key Responsibilities_ above
- Bachelor’s degree in safety, electrical, mechatronics, or mechanical engineering
- Understanding of Industrial Controls, Industrial Electrical Engineering, and Machine Safety
- 5+ years of experience in safety engineering in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- In-depth knowledge of safety regulations, standards, and industry best practices, including AS/NZS 4024, ISO 13849, IEC 61508, and ANSI B11
- Professional certification is a plus e.g., Certified Machine Safety Expert (CMSE), Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Functional Safety Expert (CFSE)

**Why Apply?**
There are some very sizable machine and plant safety opportunities that the company want to get someone on board to work on. So, this is your opportunity to be a technical safety lead, in charge of safety consultancy for the company, and to join the company as they continue to grow this business area.

This Company is a great one to join, as they are stable, growing strongly and consistently, and you will be part of a small of team of energetic, positive, and like-minded engineers, who will understand the work you do.
