An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the surgical
cluster Nurse Educator team working in General Surgery.
Located
across 3 surgical wards at Te Whatu Ora Waitaha Canterbury - we have an exciting opportunity for a senior nurse to join our team as Clinical
Nurse Educator on a fixed term part time basis to cover a period of Parental
Leave. Currently working as a senior nurse, your passion and clinical expertise
in this area will place you perfectly as a specialist resource for the team,
providing valuable support and education to new and existing staff and nursing
students. A confident communicator, you will easily establish quality
relationships and ensure exceptional ongoing service delivery for our service
users. Your
skills will include those of facilitator, change agent, consultant and leader.

**This role will see you**:

- Providing

leadership in clinical practice.
- Acting as a
resource for new and existing staff, and students.
- Assist the General
Surgery Senior Nursing team to continue the nursing education focus in pursuit
of clinical excellence.
- Promoting nursing
research and evidence-based practice.
We are looking
for someone who is committed and passionate to succeed in this role and who as a positive role
model will work collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure
high standards of care and improved patient outcomes are attained.
The Nurse Educator facilitates and coordinates
clinical learning activities and nursing professional development programs.
They provide systematic guidance to reduce the gap between nursing theory and
practice and are key to improving the quality of nursing care and enhancing the
patients' level of satisfaction.
You will provide nursing leadership and act as a
resource for both new and experienced staff. Clinical coaching and point of
care learning will be an emphasis of the role. Your skills will include those
of facilitator, change agent, consultant and leader.

Continuing the development of widespread competence
in the nursing team is essential, and it requires a strategic planned approach
to be successful. This role facilitates the progression of current education
resources, as well as the development of future strategic growth. So, if you
are a Registered Nurse with extensive Neurosciences experience and a passion
for quality nursing we would love to hear from you.

- An expert nurse who either holds, or is working towards, a relevant

post graduate qualification. A qualification in adult education is highly
desirable.

- A commitment to quality and excellence
