Key Responsibilities:

- Lead the development of Procurement Policy, Standards, and Guidance, aligning them with best practices and regulatory standards.
- Provide expert commercial advice across all Council departments, guiding procurement users in planning and sourcing strategies.
- Own and deliver on category strategies through tenders and market exercises, ensuring efficient spending across multiple Council departments.
- Manage the overall delivery of the Procurement Strategy, leading a multi-year improvement program and reporting progress to the Executive Leadership Team.
- Drive the evolution of procurement tools and templates for improved efficiency.
- Establish oversight of all Council procurement activity and performance, ensuring adherence to process and good practice.

Key Experience:

- Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline (commerce, finance, management/business, law, or logistics) or equivalent industry-specific applied knowledge.
- 3-5 years of experience leading a Procurement function or in a Senior Procurement position.
- 10 years of overall experience in Procurement, with comprehensive knowledge of all functional areas.
- Proven track record of developing and maintaining relationships across internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong political awareness and appreciation of procurement-related risks.
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills.
