Electrical Supervisor

**The Job**

Based in Manapouri, Fiordland, this is the most iconic power station in New Zealand. This is a unique and exciting position where the role is both hands on with the added responsibility of supervising and leading the team.

As part of a small efficient maintenance team this is a key frontline role ensuring the maintenance delivery & fault response work is undertaken safely, accurately and on time.

With a site team of around fifteen and an electrical team of four, the position of the Electrical Supervisor will be to sit within the Maintenance Services team which is responsible for;
- Executing the scheduled maintenance plan
- Responds to faults and emergencies.
- Undertakes minor maintenance projects and major projects when required

**Skills and Experience**
- Electrical Registration and current Practicing Licence are essential
- Experience within a power generation environment is an advantage, but not compulsory
- Experience in electrical maintenance for manufacturing or heavy process industry
- Well-developed interpersonal skills, particularly in the areas of people management and communication.
- Supervisory or Team Leader experience, with the ability to lead and inspire a team, to get the best out of every person
- Experience within the Electricity network construction, operation or maintenance experience
- Ability to work with Team Leaders to ensure appropriate supervision, training and upskilling of the team
- Motivated to bring the teams solutions to the table and willing to follow improvement ideas through to completion
- Organised and thorough in all aspects of their job.

The Fiordland region is full of activities for all individuals, with beautiful lakes and thriving forests there is hunting, fishing and diving right at the door step. Jet boating, hiking, visiting the glow worm caves and scenic flights are all on offer. Queenstown is a 2 hour drive for those who like action and adventure and with an international airport travelling abroad is made easy. Te Anau has a wonderful family community, there are restaurants and bars for socialising. There are well established child care facilities, primary schools and a high school along with a medical facility.

This position Is unique in that in order to get to work you are required to take the Ferry from Manapouri to the power station itself. There are company vehicles on hand at both ends of the shores to get you from point A to Point B. Unless you are living in a thriving metropolis not many people can say they need to take 2 modes of transport to work each day.
