Applications are invited for the 2024/2025 year.

The Emergency Department at Waikato Hospital provides opportunity to gain experience in the management of a wide variety of presentations. We are a tertiary referral centre for trauma, O&G patients are initially managed in ED and about 25% of the patients we see are paediatric. We have an active weekly education session for all doctors within the department, and run teaching programmes for trainees for the primary and fellowship exams that are tailored towards the needs of the trainees at the time. We can provide you with the opportunity to gain supervised experience in the management of all types of acute presentations to ED in a friendly department, whether you are/ are interested in becoming an ED trainee, or would just like to broaden your clinical exposure. We will short list those we consider to be appropriate applicants and run an interview selection process for the positions for those short listed.
