**Mō te tūnga | About the Role**
Our Occupational Therapy service has a unique and rewarding opportunity for an NZ Registered Occupational Therapist to join us in providing high quality care to the Ashburton and rural communities in Mid Canterbury.

This is a varied position with no two days the same Working in our hospitals and community-based settings you will work as an acute care Occupational Therapist, responding to needs of those in the community and on the acute ward.

Our services cover the areas from the Rangitata River to Rakaia River so it - s important that you are comfortable working alone in rural areas. We - re a dedicated and supportive team who are committed to supporting your continued development through our range of professional development and supervision opportunities.

**Ko wai koe | About You**

In this role, you will be responsible for:

- Delivering a high standard of care to patients;
- Managing and prioritising your caseload independently;
- Supporting occupational therapy services within our inpatient environment as well as providing outpatient clinics;
- Working within an interdisciplinary team to support the effective functioning of the service;
- Appropriate delegation of tasks to our Allied Health Assistants to utilise resource and support their professional development;
- Supervision of Allied Health Assistants.

- Flexibility and adaptability, along with excellent interpersonal skills;
- Enthusiasm for knowledge sharing across and beyond your discipline;
- The ability to establish an early rapport with patients and families and negotiate appropriate solutions;
- Experience in outpatient setting and inpatient rehabilitation is highly desirable;
- Experience within the public health system is advantageous, as is familiarity working within a interdisciplinary team;
- New Zealand Registered Occupational Therapist and current Practising Certificate is essential;
- As some travel is required, a full NZ drivers license is required.
