**About the role**:
We have an exciting opportunity available for a Buyer to join The Athlete’s Foot New Zealand team. Reporting into the Country Manager for The Athlete’s Foot, you will be responsible for for managing the flow of merchandise across all categories and must maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to execute the merchandise strategy.

**Your key responsibilities will be**:

- Develop and deliver product strategies for each brand in your portfolio in line with The Athlete’s Foot overall strategy
- Manage complete range selection for your portfolio under the guidance of the Head of Buying including marketing, budgeting, price architecture and sourcing new product and suppliers
- Manage Brand contracts and keep internal stakeholders informed on stock delays and risks
- Report on buyership performance to internal stakeholders and recommend remedial action where necessary
- Understand the current business and market and look at key growth areas and opportunity
- Actively research current trends relevant to your portfolio
- Manage administrative duties of total portfolio
- Liaise with Merchandise Planning to deliver seasonal outcomes against Merchandise Plan
- Liaise with Marketing team to develop promotional plan supporting key purchased stories/brands
- Liaise with National, Area and store managers to ensure you are in touch with issues on the ground regarding assigned brands.

**To be successful you will have**:

- Demonstrated previous experience in a retail buying role ideally with retail apparel / footwear
- A passion for driving sales and achieving profit margins
- The ability to manage and maintain multiple supplier relationships
- Proficient in Excel - analysing data and managing reports
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to communicate with various stakeholders at all levels
- Ability to create, plan, monitor and execute multiple reports
- High sense of urgency with the ability to work autonomously and part of a team
- Excellent time management and organisation skills to manage multiple priorities
- Ability to problem solve and take initiative
