Plasterboard Fixers

Extreme Wallboard Installer Ltd has been operating for several years. We are looking for four Plasterboard Fixers to join our team.

**Requirements**:

- Have experience/skills as a plasterboard fixer
- Have at least NZQF Level 1 qualification, or compulsory secondary education (overseas qualifications must be comparable to the standard of the New Zealand qualification)

**General**
- loading and unloading materials, tools, and equipment and transporting them around building sites
- preparing all material for gib fixing
- cleaning and carrying out all tasks that required on the construction site
- cleaning and storing all equipment
- remove articles
- all other related tasks

**Specific**
- Trims rough edges from wallboard to maintain even joints, using a knife.
- Fits and fastens wallboard or sheetrock into a specified position, using hand tools, portable power tools, or adhesive.
- Measures and marks cutting lines on framing, drywall, and trim, using a tape measure, straightedge or square, and marking devices.
- Removes plaster, drywall, or paneling, using crowbar and hammer.
- Assembles and installs metal framing and decorative trim for windows, doorways, and vents.
- Reads blueprints and other specifications to determine the method of installation.
- Lays out reference lines and points computes the position of framing and furring channels, and marks position, using chalk.
- Suspends angle iron grid and channel iron from the ceiling, using wire.
- Installs horizontal and vertical metal or wooden wallboard on interior walls, using hand tools.
- Cuts metal or wood framing, angle and channel iron, and trim to size, using cutting tools.

**Other detail**
- This is a full-time and permanent position
- Wage payment is $27.80 per hour, and you will be paid weekly
- Holiday pay and sick leave will be paid according to the law
- You will be working in Auckland
- Business normal hours of operation are from Monday to Saturday 7.30 am 5.30 pm.
- You will be required to work a minimum of 30 hours per week (a maximum of 48 hours) within the businesss normal hours of operation.
