**Court Registry Officer - Hastings (Full time, Permanent)**

**Te whiwhinga mahi/The Opportunity**

As a Court Registry Officer, you will work with a team responsible for the successful operation of the Court. You will liaise with multiple stakeholders including defendants, witnesses, family members, Oranga Tamariki, Lawyers, and Police Officers. You will be able to communicate confidently with Judges within the courtroom and their chambers, as well as other members of the judiciary. You will manage your own caseload of files and ensure their timely and efficient progression through the court process.

Your main responsibilities will include:

- **Court Taking** - this is facilitating the running of the court. This includes introducing Judges (in English and Te Reo Maori), working closely with them in the Courtroom and Chambers, and general administration of the court.
- **Case Management** - this involves communicating with lawyers and judges, ensuring files are accurate and up to date and setting cases down for court hearing time. This part of the role involves a large component of data entry.

To be successful in the role you will need to be:

- **Detail orientated and observant **- the court has many different processes and case information needs to be accurate.
- **Self-aware** - you'll understand our customers and will be confident working across a range of situations.
- **Multi-task **- you'll understand that some of our processes are repetitive, but you'll be able to manage conflicting priorities and move from one task to another quickly.
- **Willing to learn **- legislation and processes in the courts is always changing and you will be able to adapt and respond to feedback. You may also, at times, be required to travel to other centers within Aotearoa New Zealand for training.
- **Resilience **- there are times when working in the courts, you will be working on sensitive cases and sometimes at high volume

You will be required to travel to Hawkes Bay hearing courts and other off-site venues so a clean full New Zealand drivers licence is required.

**Utu ā-tau/**Salary**

Salary Range: The remuneration band for this role will be between $52,729 and $74,441 based on skills and experience.
