**Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role**

Permanent, Part or Full Time - 0.8-1.0FTE

The successful applicant will join a department of ten Consultant Physicians who have subspecialty interests in General Medicine, Cardiology, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, Respiratory, Renal and Rheumatology.

The Department of Medicine has a strong track record with education and training, and the successful incumbent will be expected to participate and contribute to the department's CME activities, including basic & advanced trainee registrar teaching, audit and medical student teaching.

As a Specialist Physician in Dermatology you will work as the Lead Dermatologist with support from Paediatric Dermatology, Locum Dermatologists and Medical Officer Specialist Scale with a Dermatology interest and Dermatology Nurses in the Whanau & Communities Group.

You will provide clinical services that include outpatient, community assessment and management of people requiring specialist dermatology care, and community-based support services. Clinics are provided in New Plymouth and Hawera. Strong clinical liaison with other surgical specialist such as General Surgery, ENT and Ophthalmology and non-surgical departments such as Paediatrics and the full range of medical specialties will be maintained.

**Moū - About you**

Applicants must be registered or eligible for registration, with the Medical Council of New Zealand as a Specialist and hold appropriate specialist qualifications in Dermatology, such as being a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, or equivalent.
