**Help the Tairāwhiti Gisborne community rebuild after Cyclone Gabrielle**

Hon. Kiri Allan,MP has a fixed term opportunity in our **Gisborne** office for a Parliamentary MP Support. This role will be focussed on working with, supporting and connecting the Tairāwhiti Gisborne Community with the rebuild after Cyclone Gabrielle.

This is fulltime (40 hours a week) role through to 29/09/23 with your employment being linked to the term of the MP. We are open to looking at part time (minimum of 30 hours a week) for the right person. If part time, we'd be looking at a minimum of 30 hours a week.

You'll be part of East Coast Electorate Team and work collaboratively with your colleagues in Gisborne and Whakatāne.

This is a unique and highly varied role, bring your mix of customer service and administration skills along with your ability to problem solve and build strong and lasting relationships in the community.

Your MP Support work programme would be Cyclone Recovery focussed and will support the Constituent, Community and East Coast office. That will include:
**Constituent**
- Working with constituents affected by Cyclone Gabrielle, hearing and investigating their issues and concerns and providing pathways forward.
- Advocate for constituent issues at Ministerial level or with Government agencies e.g. Work & Income, Immigration

**Community**
- Keep informed and/or attend Cyclone Recovery meetings and forums and provide the MP with feedback
- Develop and maintain strong and effective community groups and networks
- Represent the MP as required at Cyclone Recovery community/sector group meetings and functions
- Identify potential issues of concern to the MP and provide advice on resolution

**Office**
- Organise meetings, functions and events for the MP that are Cyclone Recovery related. Ensure the MP is always well briefed for each engagement
- Create and maintain internal systems/processes for Cyclone Recovery interactions
- Create and maintain a directory/database of Cyclone Recovery key contact points for Electorate office
- Assemble, collate data and compile statistics.

You will lend your ear to constituents to make them feel heard and supported. You're a problem solver and a really clear communicator. You can identify the facts and put a course of action in place. You are comfortable meeting with people face to face and just as comfortable writing to a Minister's office on behalf of your constituents.

You're a team player enjoys collaborating with others and are well known for your thoughtful, patient and considerate nature.

As an employee of Parliamentary Service, you will be apolitical in your role. Awareness of the political landscape may be beneficial in supporting your MP.

The appointing salary range for this role is $56,881-$71,014 per annum.
