**Mō te tūnga | Role Overview**
The Suicide Prevention & Postvention Coordinator/Pou Tumanako role is a permanent position working within the Pegasus Mental Health Service. The position is based within the Ngā Pou tumanako Team/Suicide Postvention and Prevention (SPP) Team and will support the implementation of the Canterbury Suicide Prevention Action Plan and the New Zealand Suicide Prevention Strategy 2019-2029, He Tapute Oranga o Tangata.
The SPP Team coordinates and facilitates a range of suicide prevention and postvention activities with the aim of reducing suicide rates and lessening the harmful impacts on families/whānau, friends and the wider Canterbury community.
The SPP team work collaboratively with suicide prevention stakeholders within Pegasus Health and externally to ensure integrated and safe delivery of wellbeing support for the Canterbury community.
This is a permanent position. The role is flexible between 32 or 40 hours per week. As a team we cap the time in the pre/postvention space to 32 hours per week. If you are interested in full-time, we will provide an opportunity to work as a Mental Health Clinician within our Mental Health Service 1 day a week.

- Strong facilitation, education, and skills in coordinating wellbeing approaches
- Registered Health Professional under the HPCA Act
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills and a proven ability to engage with every level of stakeholder
- A genuine commitment to improving the overall health and wellbeing of communities and to foster self-determination and empowerment of communities
- The ability to power share and collaborate with others to create a collective vision
- A genuine commitment to improving equity of outcome particularly for Māori, Pacific, CALD and other identified communities
