Summary

Our Insights team is small and works closely with all areas of the business, so the work you'll do will be varied, touching everything from data science through to analysis and some data engineering. One day you may be helping the product team further understand our customer journey, another you may be creating models to predict user behaviour or creating robust data pipelines. You'll have to be a great communicator as not only will you uncover insights within the data, you'll present them back to senior stakeholders within the business in a clear and concise manner.

Reporting to the Head of Data and working closely with the Marketing, Products and Development teams, you would be involved in the following activities:
What you'll do
- Collaborating with internal teams and stakeholders to understand their problems and perform requirements analysis to create fit-for-purpose solutions to guide Serato's strategic direction
- Analysing data from different data sources to answer business questions
- Presenting your findings back to internal teams and stakeholders in a simple and easy to understand manner
- Help with building and maintaining data pipelines

Key Responsibilities and Tasks:
Descriptive Analytics
- Creating and maintaining reports that are used for decision making
- Finding patterns and trends in an organization's historical data
- Answering ad-hoc queries in relation to reports, in an accurate and timely manner
- Staying abreast of data developments, innovations and trends in the industry
- Presenting actionable insights back to stakeholders in a clear manner

Predictive/Prescriptive Analytics
- Extract and analyse data from different internal data sources to answer business questions
- Identifying trends and patterns within data
- Identifying areas of the business where predictive modelling can add value
- Develop predictive models that help stakeholders make better decisions and automate manual processes
- Formulating questions that can help the internal teams in solving their problems
- Build in-depth knowledge and understanding of our customers, products and channels
- Build and maintain data preparation pipelines
- Generate data-based insights to drive opportunities to increase efficiency and improve customer experience
- Staying abreast of developments in predictive modelling and identifying new areas of innovation which may help Serato

About you
- Hard working, naturally curious with an interest in DJing and Music Production
- Self-motivated with a high-level of initiative
- Comfortable reading and absorbing large amounts of information with an ability to distill it into its core meaning and show critical thinking
- Have experience with SQL and python, and preferably have some knowledge of Google Cloud Platform
- Ability to think independently, and diplomatically challenge assumptions
