**Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role**

Our Resident Medical Officer (RMO) Coordinator provides administration support to our Senior and Junior doctors (RMO’s), and is responsible for developing and overseeing the RMO rosters, ensuring they are consistent, transparent and accurate. Support is provided across the District, while also working collaboratively with National RMO groups and other Districts to ensure that the best and most effective approaches to RMO Coordination are being utilised.

The RMO Unit facilitates linkages between and provides support for all those involved in RMO management functions across the sub regional Districts. Our focus is to provide a strategic overview of the RMO workforce, while also ensuring the consistency of management practices and the provision of employment agreement compliance. We actively encourage and promote open communication between clinical and operational management, with a key part of our unit assisting managers with RMO leave, management and RMO reimbursements. Our team in Wellington are part of a wider RMO Unit, with an office in the Hutt Hospital as well.
