**Mō tēnei tūranga | About this role**

The Senior Advisor, Special Projects is responsible for supporting a range of programmes and services that support student wellbeing such as the Ka Ora, Ka Ako | Healthy School Lunches Programme and Ikura | Manaakitia te whare tangata period products programme in school. You will provide advice, guidance, and support to schools, kura, suppliers and partners in establishing and for the ongoing success of these initiatives.

This role is part of a national team with a regional focus and will need to be responsive to the needs of these initiatives in the region.

**Mōhou ake | About you**

You will have experience working in a complex organisation, food service and experience in contract management. By developing effective working relationships and building credibility with stakeholders at all levels, team members, and colleagues you will deliver results by taking ownership as well as being proactive and pragmatic. You will also have local knowledge of the region and how to best engage with schools and suppliers in your area.

You will also offer:

- A track record of bringing people together and leading, coaching and mentoring others to achieve outcomes
- Experience in building relationships and partnerships to achieve shared outcomes.
- Experience in engaging with iwi and hapū on work related matters
- A proven ability to use data and insights to identify trends, risks and opportunities, to influence and guide organisational and system-level decision making
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- A commitment to ongoing personal and professional development

**Mātau rōpū ake | About our group, and team**

Te Pae Aronui was established within Te Mahau to help drive a focus on equity throughout Te Tāhuhu by connecting across the Ministry and providing expert support and services into the regions.

Te Pae Aronui is the integrator and connector for Te Mahau. That means we use our functions and capabilities collectively to shape and influence the direction of education in Aotearoa New Zealand by gathering insights, regulation, providing service design and delivery functions, and understanding ākonga and whānau, communities and businesses.

Te Mahau was established in 2021 as a key part of a reshaped Te Tāhuhu Ministry of Education to address persistent disparities, poor support for early learning and schools, and a lack of trust in the system, and to do this through “a much more deliberately networked and supported system that is more responsive to the needs of ākonga and their whanau”. [1]
