As the Operations Lead, you will work with a high performing devops squad which was established within LINZ's core platform replacement programme. The squad has implemented and rolled out modern operations tooling across critical business services. This is an exciting opportunity for the right person to continue to embed a consistent operations practice across LINZ support services, guided by the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe). Your focus will be on optimizing our observability and incident management processes, ensuring that our systems are resilient, available, and continually improving. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process improvements and implement strategies that enhance the reliability and performance of our operations.
**Key resposibilitites**:

- Lead the level 2 technical support squad who are responsible for technical triage of business critical services.
- Identify opportunities to improve observability practices, enabling proactive monitoring and incident prevention.
- Work with Product Management to prioritise the team's backlog and deliver these against committed Programme Increment (PI) plans.
- Where there are competing priorities seek alignment and consensus through collaborative dialogue with all interested Stakeholders.
- Monitor activities required to resolve production issues in a timely manner.
- Support the continuous improvement of Service Management processes including Incident, Event, Change, Problem, and IT Service Continuity management, ensuring timely response and resolution in an Agile environment.
- Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and product teams across the organisation to integrate best practices in operational efficiency.
- Drive the implementation of tools and technologies that support observability, monitoring, and incident management.
- Ensure operational risks are identified, assessed, and mitigated effectively.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reporting mechanisms to track operational performance, service level agreements and incident trends.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to the operations team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- To align with and implement SAFe ways of working.

- Proven experience in an Operations Lead or similar role.
- Strong understanding and hands-on experience with SAFe methodology.
- Experience in observability tools and practices (e.g., logging, monitoring, tracing).
- Demonstrated experience in improving incident management processes.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to think strategically and implement practical solutions.
- Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience with DevOps practices and tools in the public cloud.

The annual salary range for this role is between $119,736 to $161,996.
