Stockperson (Rearing)

As Stockperson (Rearing) you will be working on a farm in Waikouaiti where the health and wellbeing of the livestock is of utmost importance. This is a "hands on roll" where you will be working as part of a small team, following company policies and procedures to ensure the welfare of stock is maintained, daily duties are completed, and any targets are met in a safety conscious manner.
You will be directly looking after and handling newly hatched chicks from a day old to 16 weeks in a commercial operation. You will also participate in overseeing general machinery maintenance, so an interest in machinery/fixing things is also desirable.
A background in farming/dealing with livestock is preferred but not mandatory as training will be provided.
Hours of work: up to 40 hours per week, 5 days on, 2 days off, and may involve some weekend and oncall work.
MUST HAVES:
- Hold a restricted or full clean NZ Drivers License and be able to drive yourself to and from the farm
- Must be a NZ Permanent Resident or Citizen
- Must live in or within 20 minutes drive to Waikouaiti
- Be physcially fit and active
- Be biosecurity conscious and compliant
- Health & safety compliant
- Pass a drug & alcohol screening
