Electrical Technician

**About the Role**
As one of our Pulp Electrical Technicians’ you will report to the Electrical Coordinator and work within a team of multi skilled electricians and technicians while also collaborating with wider Pulp teams to complete work. In your role you will working across the Pulp division allowing you to work on an exciting variety of plant. When carrying out your key responsibilities of instrumentation and control you will primarily be self-managing. Along with your key responsibilities, you will complete core electrical tasks, involving preventative maintenance, repair, and modification work. As the Electrical Technician you will continually identify and implement efficiency improvements, ensuring that the implications of such changes are effectively communicated to all affected and interested parties. This will also involve updating documentation such as procedures, creating designs and updating drawings. You will have a strong focus on improving the reliability of control systems, process instruments and electronics to minimise production downtime or unscheduled outages. If breakdowns or extended issues occur, you will provide additional technical expertise. Your role significantly contributes to the pulp mill meeting its performance targets and fulfilling domestic and international customer orders.
This is a day position 8.00 - 16.30 Monday - Friday, involving a call out roster and shift cover by agreement. This role is based at our Whirinaki site located 15 mins north of Napier.

You also have the following skills:
- a minimum of 3 years’ experience as a NZ registered electrician
- a strong electrical aptitude and demonstrated practical experience
- a logical mind-set and good fault finding capabilities
- experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- knowledge and experience with VSD’s, PLCs and DCS systems
- a positive outlook, team fit is a must
- good communication skills
- a willingness to learn
- NZ certificate in Industrial measurement and control is preferred
