**The Company**:
Our client is an internationally recognised manufacturer of specialised dairy ingredients and foods, that have a long-standing reputation for their supportive and inclusive company culture. With a unique and diverse product range, their modern facilities are based near Morrinsville, just a 30 minute from Hamilton Central.

**The Opportunity**:
Reporting into the Laboratory Manager with a focus on continuous improvement, this role will provide technical expertise and support the wider teams across all laboratory departments. By providing strategic direction on equipment & instruments, maintenance, method validation, new technologies, testing, data analysis and more, this role will aim to enhance efficiency and technical knowledge within the laboratory.

Tasks will include, but are not limited to:

- Leading the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of validation processes
- Providing strategic direction for lab equipment & instrumentation, calibration, and maintenance programmes
- Establishing and implementing a suitable equipment and instrument replacement plan
- Implementing efficient problem-solving tools and training staff in utilizing these tools
- Liaison with external parties to better understand testing methodologies & problem solving and drive optimisation
- Research, evaluate, recommend, and implement new technologies into the laboratory
- Analysing testing and instrument QC data to provide recommendations for improvement
- Leading method and instrument improvement activities
- Performing routine and non-routine testing activities and instrument calibrations/maintenance as required

This is a Monday - Friday role.

Our client is in search of a strong analytical professional with proven skills in problem solving, investigation, and solution implementation. You must be able to drive continuous improvement activities and implement changes, work collaboratively with team members and stakeholders, have exceptional attention to detail and independently plan and manage your time.
- A tertiary qualification in Food Science, Chemistry and/or Microbiology
- Demonstrated experience working to ISO17025 and IANZ accreditation requirements
- Knowledge of various test methods and equipment used in a dairy manufacturing environment (highly preferrable)
- Demonstrable experience in validation processes & procedures
- Laboratory equipment procurement, calibration, and maintenance experience
- Ability to review and implement new technology and methods
- Excellent ability to work accurately with numbers
- Advanced word processing and spreadsheet skills
- Critical thinking
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
