We have an exciting permanent opportunity for a Logistics Coordinator (Purchasing and Inventory) based in Palmerston North. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills and support Fonterra’s innovation pipeline.

As part of the logistics team, you’ll be the central point for purchasing at FRDC. You will be responsible for the end to end purchasing process, managing inventory levels, and streamlining efficiency.

This opportunity allows you to collaborate with cross-functional teams and build strong relationships with stakeholders and suppliers.

**Key role responsibilities include**:

- Manage inventory levels through forecasting, ordering, and tracking.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of purchasing and inventory data.
- Optimise inventory levels to support operational needs and minimize costs.
- Procure goods and services in a timely manner to prevent delays.
- Proactively communicate with vendors and customers regarding inquiries and deliveries.
- Research industry trends and best practices for continuous improvement.
- Manage cycle counting process and report results.
- Develop and review documentation for purchasing and inventory management.

**About You**

You’ll have strong organisational skills and the ability to address inventory challenges across multiple systems and processes, collaborate, and problem solve with others to support research outcomes.

A strong focus on customer satisfaction and the capacity to engage with a diverse range of stakeholders both within and outside of Fonterra.

**A few other key attributes will be**:

- The ability to challenge, engage, inspire, and influence at a project and operational level.

- A continuous improvement mindset
- Operational efficiency and automation of processes
- Ability to learn new systems quickly and sustainably.
- Plan and organise a routine that ensures tasks are completed with accuracy and in a timely nature.

Ideally, your experience will include exposure to procurement and engineering parts or food ingredient management. Including use of inventory management software, material master data management and the understanding of naming conventions for material and locations. Confident in using office 365.

A Forklift licence would also be advantageous.
