We have an exciting opportunity for a graduate (early 2025 start) or early career professional (earlier start possible) looking to find their place in the environmental industry. We are a small business located in Selwyn, primarily focused on contaminated land assessments in the wider Canterbury area. We have spent 11 years building a loyal client base from a commitment to providing timely responses, competitive pricing and hard work. We want someone with similar qualities to add to our team environment.

About The Role:

- Complete Preliminary Site Investigations: sites commonly investigated include rural residential properties with farm pits and burn areas, lead-based paint and asbestos contamination from buildings, small commercial/industrial sites such as construction yards or timber treatment plants, horticultural sites.
- Undertake Detailed Site Investigations including obtaining soil samples through hand digging and mechanical excavations and use of the portable XRF.
- Interpretation of analytical results and assessment of environmental data.
- Production of Site Management and Remedial Action Plans (SMP/RAP) and supervision of activities required by these plans (i.e. overseeing remedial works, validation sampling).
- Technical reporting including the development of conceptual site models.
- Working closely with other MEL team members and those from other companies such as geotechnical engineers, planners, landscape architects and construction workers.

- Strong verbal and written communication skills and competent Word and Excel user
- Good work ethic and a good level of fitness to get you through the sometimes long tough field work days.
