**About the role**
We are seeking a Kaiako to deliver the total immersion Te Pūtaketanga o te Reo Level 4 programme, which involves but is not limited to: developing lesson plans, presenting material to tauira (students), responding to tauira learning needs, and evaluating tauira progress. Some flexibility may be required to work some weekends and evenings.
**About you**
The Kaiako will need to have extensive knowledge in te ao Māori, ngā āhuatanga Māori, tikanga Māori, ngā hītori Māori, ngā pakiwaitara, whakapapa, ngā iwi Māori, dialect differences.
Ideally, applicants will have:
- New Zealand Certificate in Adult Tertiary Teaching Level 5 (NZCATT L5) or equivalent, or be willing to complete during the first year of employment
- Full and current NZ Driver Licence
- Proven experience in a related role
- 3+ years teaching full immersion te reo Māori
- Fluency in te reo and ngā āhuatanga Māori and ability to lead in these areas
- Adult teaching experience
- Whilst teaching experience is highly valued at TWoA, newly qualified Kaiako with relevant qualifications but with no or limited previous teaching experience will also be considered._
As a kaupapa Māori organisation, your willingness to participate in cultural activities and develop an understanding of Āhuatanga Māori (values, culture and tikanga) is desirable.
