**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Bricklaying & Blocklaying**: Lay bricks, blocks, and other materials to construct or repair walls, foundations, chimneys, and decorative features.
- **Interpretation of Plans**:Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and construction plans to determine materials required and installation processes.
- **Site Preparation**: Ensure the site is prepared by mixing mortar, cutting bricks, and ensuring appropriate tools are ready for use.
- **Structural Integrity**: Ensure all brickwork is level, aligned, and meets structural and safety standards.
- **Health & Safety Compliance**: Follow safety protocols on-site, including proper use of protective gear and tools.
- **Collaboration**: Work with other construction workers, supervisors, and contractors to ensure efficient completion of projects.
- **Repair & Maintenance**:Perform repairs to existing brickwork and masonry as needed.

**What you will bring**:

- **Experience**: Ideally someone with 5+ years of hands-on experience in bricklaying or masonry. However, prepared to consider right person with less experience.
- **Certifications**: Relevant trade qualifications in bricklaying or masonry (e.g., New Zealand Certificate in Brick and Block Laying) preferred but not mandatory.
- **Physical Fitness**: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy materials and working at heights.
- **Attention to Detail**: Strong eye for precision and high standards of craftsmanship.
- **Knowledge of Materials**: Familiarity with a wide variety of bricks, blocks, and masonry materials.
- **Problem-Solving**: Ability to troubleshoot and solve construction-related issues on
- site.
- **Driver’s License**: A valid New Zealand driver’s license is preferred as the role requires traveling to different sites.

**Work Environment**:

- Work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Ability to work on scaffolding and in confined spaces.
- Potential for long hours and weekend work depending on project deadlines.
