Continence Advisor for Children with Global Developmental Delay and Complex Health Issues

The Continence advisor at Nurse Maude are dedicated to providing comprehensive and compassionate care to our community. As a Continence Advisor, you will play a crucial role in assisting families and children to achieve continence and improve their overall quality of life.

Role and Responsibilities:
As a Continence Advisor, your primary responsibility will be to work closely with families and children with global developmental delay and complex health issues to promote continence and assist with successful toilet training. Your key duties will include:

- Conducting comprehensive assessments of children's continence needs and creating individualised care plans.
- Providing education and guidance to families on effective toilet training strategies, adapted to suit each child's unique needs.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including medical, occupational therapists, and physiotherapists, to ensure holistic care for the children.
- Offering ongoing support and counseling to families, addressing any concerns or challenges they may encounter during the toilet training process.
- Monitoring and evaluating progress, adjusting care plans as needed to achieve optimal results.
- Maintaining accurate records of assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
- Participating in relevant community outreach programs and educational initiatives to raise awareness of continence issues and available support.

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:

- Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, or a related field.
- Proven experience in working with children with global developmental delay and complex health issues.
- Expertise in promoting continence and assisting with toilet training.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build effective relationships with families and a multidisciplinary team.
- Empathy, compassion, and patience when working with children and families facing challenges.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage a diverse caseload efficiently.
