**The Role**

Synlait are looking for an Environmental Technician to join our professional team at our busy Canterbury manufacturing site in Dunsandel.

Responsibilities in this role include
- All routine and non-routine environmental sampling and swabbing which involves:

- Environmental surface swabbing,
- Powder sampling,
- Water sampling,
- Air sampling
- Ensuring that all swabs reach the laboratory in a timely manner for testing
- Provide daily environmental result notifications and monitor trends
- Aiding Manufacturing team in environmental breach investigations
- Support implementation of effective Pest Control Programme
- Pest inspection and trending
- Manage Pest Arrest Alert

Key to your success will be your ability to build strong and supportive relationships with our Technical, Manufacturing and Warehouse teams so we can ensure our operating plants are free from microorganisms.

**Skills and Experience**

This is a shift based role working 40 hours a week, working in Sun-Thu or Tue-Sat roster patterns.

There may be the ability to discuss flexibility of the shift days and times with the Hiring Manager to suit your work/life balance.

To be considered for this role will require
- A background in food or dairy based science or technology
- Knowledge of Environmental Monitoring/Sampling/Hygiene
- The ability to work at pace in a high pressure environment
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Pride in your work and the accomplishments you achieve

Experience in Microbiology is also highly advantageous in this role
