Wellington City, New Zealand Plunket Full time

**Kotahi mano ngā rā hiki te oranga mo ngā whakatipuranga, i roto i ngā hapori**

In the first 1000 days setting the path of wellness in our communities, for generations to come.

**Te Whiwhinga mahi - The opportunity**

We are recruiting for registered nurses to work on a permanent full time or part time basis. We have multiple vacancies available across the Wellington Central, Hutt Valley and Mana Porirua areas. If you’re looking for a role that moves beyond primary or hospital-based care, where you can provide ongoing support and see the impacts and outcomes of your nursing excellence, this is it.

Our teams deliver the well child Service to a diverse range of whanau. The teams are made up of several Nurses, Kaiawhina and Health workers who work collaboratively and in partnership with whanau to provide care. If you enjoy working in a close and collegial environment or are a new graduate looking to start your nursing journey in a supportive environment, then this role could be for you.

Our work requires nurses who are ready to take action in order to build sustainable and responsive care plans that support holistic health.

The care we provide often requires working with multiple agencies and specialists - social workers, food banks and other community groups, while it will not be up to you alone to make the difference, you’ll be able to leverage and work with other community support and our Whānau Āwhina services to respond to the needs of our community.

**He kōrero mōu | About you**

We’re interested in hearing from new graduates, established nurses and we also have our Return to Nursing Competency Assessment Programme for nurses who have not practiced recently.

The uniqueness of the whānau we connect with is what makes our role interesting. You will be flexible in your approach, but always with a listening ear, manaakitanga (support), ngākau (respect), and the ability to provide culturally safe care.

While the autonomy which comes with working on your own and home visiting will be attractive to you, your ability to work in collaboration with others will be the key to your success. Our team place whānau at the centre of what we do, and you will share this value.

**Ngā hua mahi o Te Whānau Āwhina | What we offer**
- Work close to home in a community-based role
- A Monday - Friday role, with some flexibility to work around you
- 'Well Health Day': the ability to use sick leave for a proactive planned health day
- We'll pay for your Post-Graduate certificate
- Career pathways for leaders, educators and head office positions

**Ngā pukenga me tohunga Motuhake | Skills and Qualifications**

To be successful in this role you will:

- Be a registered nurse
- Hold or be able to obtain an Annual Practicing Certificate
- Hold a full clean NZ Drivers Licence
- Be committed to completing Post Graduate Certificate in Well Child Tamariki Ora

The ability to speak a second language will be advantageous.

**Me pēhea te tuku tono | How to apply**

Applications close: 11th January 2023.

Whānau Āwhina Plunket is committed to supporting the health and wellbeing of pēpi, tamariki and their whānau/family. We have committed to adopting a pro-equity approach where we give life to the Treaty principles of tino rangatiratanga, partnership, active protection, equity and options in our mahi/work to ensure healthy tamariki, confident whānau and connected communities. This journey is creating exciting career opportunities - If you would like to contribute to the important mahi we do, nau mai, haere mai.
