We have an exciting opportunity to become part of the state highway management and maintenance team as an exceptional Asset Engineer based in Christchurch or Timaru. The role is responsible for providing technical asset management services to the contract and region, enhancing our services to our clients, and supporting the contract teams.

**About the role**:
As the Asset Engineer you ensure that engineering processes and deliverables that are related to infrastructure asset management are carried out to the required company standards (The Downer Standard) and contract requirements. You will be well supported by an experienced team who work across various contracts.

You will find yourself performing tasks such as but not limited to:
Investigating and analysing data to provide insights for decision making.

Minimise maintenance costs and address network needs.

Develop relationships with client representatives, anticipating and resolving issues, and ensuring effective customer and client service.

Support, implement and adhere to H&S policies and procedures.

**About you**:
You will ideally have a passion for the civil construction industry and a tertiary Engineering qualification (or equivalent). You’ll also bring with you proven industry experience and knowledge but experience in advanced asset management will be advantageous.

**You’ll also have in your skills toolkit**:
Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).

Proven industry experience and knowledge.

Effective communication skills and ability to effectively communicate complex technical issues in a clear and rigorous manner to maximize impact.

Proven ability to manage multifaceted supplier/service provider relationships and develop effective working relationships.

Passion, drive, and enthusiasm and highly self-motivated to drive business results.

Sound commercial understanding and acumen.

Role modelling the Downer values of Excellence, Collaboration, Courage, and Integrity.

Ability to conduct some travel.
