**The role**

The role of the Kaitohu Matua is to engage and work alongside the Pou Ahurea and Group Manager Community Services and Facilities to provide practical support and guidance to Council on how it enacts Te Tiriti of Waitangi and its principles. The position sits within Te Pou Mataaho; the Iwi Māori Partnerships and Capability Team, and supports the four pou identified in Te Rautaki Tikaka Rua | Bicultural Strategy. The pou are Kā Mahi, He Takata, Kā Honoka and He Huarahi Hou.

Te Pou Mataaho is a small team that sit within our Community Services and Facilities Group and reports directly to the Group Manager Community Services and Facilities.

This position has no staff responsibilities, however will act as a mentor to the Kaitohu position which also sits within Te Pou Mataaho.
