We have an exciting opportunity for a high-performing and passionate **Legal Counsel **to join our team.

Reporting to the APAC General Counsel, you will be part of an engaged, collaborative and accomplished APAC legal team, and will partner with the business as a key legal and strategic advisor.

This role will provide quality and timely legal advice to the business and focus on developing our ability, experience and competency in our New Zealand and Pacific market.

**Key responsibilities will include**:

- Reviewing, negotiating and drafting a wide range of commercial contracts, including consultancy contracts in a range of contexts, such as design and construct, design only, alliancing and pure consultancy (or sub-consultancy) services, including for major infrastructure projects.
- Providing pragmatic advice on:

- Providing training on legal issues for non-legal technical staff.
- General legal issues that arise from day to day in a global consulting firm in the areas of employment, privacy and contract law, intellectual property law, commercial disputes and litigation management.
- Legislative compliance, internal policies and some corporate governance matters.

**What you will bring to the team**:

- New Zealand Practicing Certificate with a minimum of 8 years post qualification experience with a top tier law firm or relevant in-house experience
- Previous experience in reviewing, drafting and negotiating contracts
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Attention to detail with a proactive approach to your work.
- A true team player - you will actively contribute and work well in a close-knit environment.
- Previous experience in major projects, infrastructure, construction, resources or engineering desirable but not essential.
