THE OPPORTUNITY:

- ZURU is seeking a talented
**Patent Attorney** to join its expanding legal team in Auckland, New Zealand. If you are passionate about IP, have a strong background in patent law, and are excited about the possibility of working in a fast-paced corporate environment where every day presents new and interesting legal challenges, this job is for you

**WHAT YOU'LL DO**:

- Preparing and filing design registrations.
- Collaborating with outside counsel around the world to obtain protection in foreign jurisdictions.
- Working closely with product teams to identify and minimize IP risk associated with new products.
- Providing patentability and freedom to operate opinions for new products. Providing support for patent litigation

**WHAT YOU'LL NEED**:

- Bachelor’s degree or higher in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, physics, or a related discipline
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree or equivalent from an accredited law school and admission to at least one bar
- You are registered to practice before the USPTO, IPONZ, or EPO.
- Proven track record of successfully prosecuting patents before the USPTO, IPONZ, or EPO
- Up-to-date knowledge of intellectual property laws, regulations, and industry trends. Experience providing patentability and freedom to operate opinions
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
