We are looking for an **Asset Accounting Advisor** to join the team on a **permanent full time basis**.

You will be reporting to the Financial Compliance Manager in Accounting Services. The Asset Accounting Advisor is responsible for ensuring that the **Auckland Council and Shared Service CCO fixed asset registers are accurate, up to date and comply with both accounting standards and legislation**. You will be required to **lend your expertise and work on ad hoc projects**.

This is a **detailed accounting role within a complex environment** where you will gain very valuable experience. To be considered you must be a team player, **demonstrate excellent communication skills**, and be very organised and **attention to detail is essential**.

You will be part of a highly skilled team of professionals, this is a hardworking and efficient team with a strong sense of pride in the work they do. **Good record-keeping skills** are essential, and **experience using ERP computer systems is highly desirable**. You will possess great **communication including the ability to influence and build strong relationships. You will be able tackle any blockers with your problem-solving skills**, take **initiative and be autonomous**. Previous experience working in a complex and diverse environment will be key. It will be highly advantageous to have knowledge of the local government environment.
- **Tertiary **or **professional qualification in finance, accounting, or commerce**:

- **Accounting technician or studying towards CA qualification**:

- Have **at least three - five years of experience within an accounting environment**:

- Strong accounting acumen with the **ability to interpret and implement legislation**:

- Be a** **proficient user** **of** MS Excel and ERP systems**:

- Demonstrable experience in** sorting and analysing large volumes of data**
