The Litigation Team is responsible for overseeing the conduct of all of ACC’s litigation, and partnering with the business to support continuous improvement of claims related primary decision-making. You will have the opportunity to work independently and under the supervision of other solicitors as necessary, providing support with dispute resolution and litigation at multiple levels to customers at all levels within ACC.

The role will not undertake Court appearances but may include coordinating with and instructing external counsel as required. The role would be ideal for litigators or other lawyers with a litigation background who wish to move to a different environment while remaining involved in Court work through steering and supervising litigation.

Your focus will be on:

- **Public law and regulatory litigation **- ensuring ACC as a Crown Entity applies Crown values in its approach to litigation.
- **Litigation management **- instructing external counsel and working with internal experts on evidence assessment.
- **Maintaining professional relationships **with opposing counsel, court staff, and expert witnesses.
- **Coronial inquiries **- including file assessment and preparation of reports on behalf of ACC.

**What we are looking for from you to be successful in this role**:

- Approximately 5 years’ post-admission experience, ideally in-house in a public sector environment, and a current practising certificate or the ability to hold one;
- Good knowledge of public law generally;
- Good knowledge of litigation practice and evidence assessment;
- Well-developed communication and problem-solving skills;
- Background in medico-law areas is not essential but will be an asset.

The base salary range for this role is $97,888 - $138,194 with appointment depending on skills, experience, and internal relativities. ACC also offers 9% superannuation.
