**He kōrero mō te tūranga | The Role**

The whare is a transition house for people to reconnect into the community, in a safe and supportive environment, and it is staffed 24/7. Te Whare Puna Waiora is a Specialist Forensic Community Transition Service. We work in Partnership with Te Korowai Whàriki. All referrals are received by our Service through the Community Forensic Mental Health Team.

**Duties of the role could include, not limited to**:

- Aid the Transition Process and walk alongside whānau as they learn to live as independently as possible within the community
- Working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders
- Support whānau to connect, maintain and build relationships with their own whānau, iwi and community
- Ensure key documentation and handovers are accurately recorded.
- Attend and contribute to team meetings, bringing ideas and updating others on their activities.

We are looking for someone who is positive, flexible, vibrant, confident, and compassionate to work in our service. You'll use your non-judgemental attitude and belief to motivate and encourage whānau realise their potential. You'll have the ability to easily build professional relationships, while maintaining strong professional boundaries

**To be successful in this role, you will need**:

- A New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing - L4 or higher level of mental health support work (or equivalent),
- Experience working with a recovery-focused approach to ensure the delivery of quality service to our whānau
- To be able to demonstrate experience supporting whānau with challenging behaviour and provide a calm and patient approach to behavioural challenges you may face
- Strong personal and professional boundaries
- Demonstrated commitment to recovery values
- A current Full New Zealand driver's licence
- Have cultural knowledge to be able to work a range of diversity.
