**ABOUT THE COMPANY**

Our client is a central government organisation who play a pivotal role in ensuring regulations and policies are maintained and upheld, in order to support a public sector that delivers effective outcomes for all New Zealanders.

**ABOUT THE ROLE**

As a Cloud Engineer, you will play a key role in the ISSP, taking on various projects, including migrating SharePoint Prem to SharePoint Online, implementing a new HRIS, and contributing to establishing the Cloud foundation. You will be responsible for crafting and executing robust Azure Landing Zone Architecture, working with Infrastructure-as-Code, and ensuring Cloud Security protocols are in place. Your expertise will be crucial in enabling a smooth transition to the Cloud while upholding high standards of security and efficiency.

**DUTIES**
- Employ Zero Trust Architecture principles to enhance security measures for our cloud infrastructure.
- Utilize Infrastructure-as-Code techniques to manage and maintain platforms, code repositories, and infrastructure configurations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in a Greenfields environment to ensure seamless Cloud integration.
- Leverage your knowledge of the Microsoft cloud ecosystem, including O365, Azure, and Power Platform, to optimize Cloud services.
- Implement and maintain Azure Active Directory, SIEM management, and Azure Infrastructure monitoring & management.
- Ensure Cloud Security protocols are followed, and conduct periodic assessments to identify and mitigate potential risks.

**SKILLS & EXPERIENCE**
- Strong proficiency in Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) practices, with hands-on experience in code editing and maintenance.
- Familiarity with Zero Trust Architecture principles and Cloud Security best practices.
- Prior knowledge in Government IT environments is preferred.
- Ability to work well within a team, demonstrating maturity, and a calm demeanor.
- A collaborative and supportive approach, focusing on teamwork and inclusivity.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ensuring effective engagement with colleagues and stakeholders.

The remuneration for this role is competitive, with an expected rate between $130-140 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.
