Applications are invited for a 18 month Fixed term, flexible FTE [up to 1 FTE] Specialist Gastroenterologist. This position is available immediately. The successful appointee will preferably have a broad range of Gastroenterology experience and training, however newly qualified SMO are also encouraged to apply.

The current team consists of 9 Gastroenterologists, Specialists Nurses in Hepatology and Inflammatory Bowel Disease and two Nurse Endoscopists. We serve as tertiary referral centre for wide range of liver disease, inflammatory bowel disease and interventional endoscopy procedures. We have three advanced trainees as part of the national training scheme. There is emphasis on ongoing development of services to meet the needs of our patients. A commitment to customer focus, service development and teamwork are essential.

Required skills & experience you will need to be considered for this role:

- The possession of specific clinical skills in endoscopic procedures is essential
- Applicants must be registered with the New Zealand Medical Council (or have qualification that are immediately registerable and have appropriate postgraduate qualifications
- The appointee will be involved in teaching, continuing medical education and quality improvement.
- There is emphasis on ongoing development of services to meet the needs of our patients
- A commitment to customer focus, service development and teamwork are essential
