**_ About our team/Mō te tīma_**
All year, every year, Te Huka Mātauraka offers a home away from home for our tauira Māori.
Te Huka Mātauraka is the heart of Māori life on campus, providing services, support, motivation and encouragement. We are an iwi-diverse whanau packed with matua and whāea who are dedicated to serving our tauira, and ensuring they have access to a welcoming place throughout their academic hikoi.
Our services range from academic and tutorial expertise, tuakana teina support, and Year 13 to first-year support, through to clinical and therapeutic care when challenges require more than encouragement and awhi.
**_ The role/Te mahi_**
The role will be based within the whānau at Te Huka Mātauraka - The Māori Centre. As the Kaituitui Academic Coordinator, you will be responsible for the delivery of the Academic Programme which includes the appointment and care of tutors, the registration and streaming of tauira māori into the programme, creating tutorial opportunities when demand is there and overseeing the progress and attendance of the tauira.
We are looking for a dynamic person that can engage well with young people and their whānau. You will have a strong understanding of the tertiary environment and enjoy working within a busy and vibrant māori space.
Most importantly, you will be passionate about supporting Māori tauira to be the very best they can be. You will also be searching for a work environment that resembles whānau, supporting and caring for one another.

**_ Your skills and experience/Kā pūkeka me kā wheako_**
- Have solid understanding of Te Ao Māori and the values that sit within tikaka māori, with proficiency in te reo or willingness to learn and use.
- Have a strong ability to event manage and respond to changing situations.
- Be skilled in maintaining large amounts of data and information accurately and safely.
- Be strong in timetabling and time management.
- Be improvement focused and seek out solutions that build upon efficiency and effectiveness.
- Have significant experience in caring for and developing relationships.
- Have experience using University systems such as Blackboard, Web Kiosk, eVision and Business Objects.
