**Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity**

To undertake research, research-informed teaching and thesis supervision, and related professional duties in areas related to psychological studies in education, with a special emphasis on social psychology in classroom settings, especially with indigenous or minority communities.

As a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in the Learning Sciences and Psychological Studies in Education (LSPSE) hub, your responsibilities will include:

- Undertake research, scholarship, and publication in the areas related to the social psychology of educational settings.
- Develop and implement a systematic programme of research in the field of social psychology.
- Develop and deliver high quality teaching using pedagogical practices that are theoretically sound, research-informed, and appropriate to the needs of diverse students. Teaching will be informed by an in-depth understanding of research in psychological science with expertise in social psychology in school settings.
- Deliver innovative, effective and efficient teaching, learning, and assessment, evaluate these for their impact on student understanding and engagement, and actively share outcomes of these evaluations.
- Supervise postgraduate research, providing expert research supervision and academic guidance to students

This Job is in School of Learning Development and Professional Practice, AND Faculty of Education and Social Work, also located in Learning Sciences and Psychological Studies in Education Hub.

This is a full-time (40 hours per week), permanent position.

Remuneration - $91000 - $116000

**Mō tō mātou rōpū | About the team**

The faculty offers research-informed undergraduate programmes in education, teacher education, social work, and human services (youth work and disability studies).

The faculty also offers a full range of postgraduate programmes, professional development opportunities, consultancy and support services for teachers, educators, schools, principals, social workers, counsellors, and those in social services.

The LSPSE hub within the School of Learning, Development, and Professional Practice offers research-informed teaching and supervision focused on educational and developmental psychology, including specialist teaching in social psychology in classroom settings.

**He kōrero mōu | About you**
- A Doctorate in Psychology or Education, with a specialisation in social psychology
- Experience of working with Māori, Pacific or indigenous and minority populations
- Knowledge of the social psychology of diverse, indigenous, or minority populations
- Experience in or potential to teach successfully on a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses
- Experience in or potential to attract and successfully supervise domestic and international doctoral students
- Effective pedagogy and assessment skills for in-person, online and blended courses and programmes
