**Employment type: Permanent Full-Time**
**Minimum guaranteed hours of work Per week: 30**
**Days Required: Monday to Saturday (flexible hours)**
**Hourly rate: $23 per hour**
We are seeking hard-working and reliable Painter Assistant to join us in Auckland Region. You should have a positive attitude and be willing to learn. You must be mature and responsible when it comes to dealing with tough situations. Although experience isn't essential, you will have to be physically fit and a fast learner. To be successful in this position, you will work well as part of a team and be able to perform strenuous physical tasks.
Your duties will include but not limited to:
- Preparing sites, materials, and tools.
- Setting up scaffolding and ladders, and placing drop sheets to protect adjacent areas from paint splattering
- Follow painters directives to prepare and mix paints
- Cleaning up after the job is finished, including sweeping up floors and cleaning equipment used on the job site
- Removal and refit of finished products such as cabinets, shelves, doors, or windows for the painting work.
- Removing debris, garbage, and dangerous materials from sites.
- Assist lead painters in the loading and unloading of materials, tools and equipment
- Assist in transporting materials, tools and equipment.
- Identify and manage hazardous (or potential) material, always follow workplace occupational health and safety procedures
- Always report breaches or near misses in health and safety log and escalate any serious breaches of health and safety to the employer.
- Assembling and breaking down barricades, temporary structures, and scaffolding.
- Performing manual labour tasks
- May do some basic repair work
- Clean up worksites from hazardous or obsolete material
- Performs various physical duties as assigned.
- Excellent fitness and physical ability to carry out manual tasks
- Flexible Work Availability as there will be early morning start, and you may be required to work during weekends and public holidays
- Willingness to undertake training if necessary.
- Be mild-tempered and a team player.
- Be healthy, strong, and fit.
- Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
- Ability to read safety warnings, and guidelines
- Attentive to detail and alert at all times to ensure safety
- Be honest and trustworthy
- Take pride in your work and go the extra mile to make sure the job is top notch
- Able to receive and follow instructions
- Enjoy coming to work and willing to be part of a team.
- No Criminal Record and able to clear the drug test
