We are looking for ambassadors for** Sofitel Auckland Viaduct Harbour** as a** Part Time Kitchen Steward**.** **The ambassador should an eye for detail, a passion for creating magnifique luxury experience for our guests and developing a wonderful team.

**Job Description**:
Our Ambassador will:

- Responsible for the cleaning duties within the kitchen or food preparation area, including the cleaning of cooking and general utensils used in a restaurant and/or a kitchen. Maintain a high level of workplace hygiene and safety in the kitchen and related areas. Assist with the assembly and preparation of ingredients for cooking as required.
- Cleaning, sanitation and storage of all cutlery, crockery, kitchen equipment and appliances, using wither industrial washing machines or hand washing as appropriate.
- Cleaning of walls, floors and general kitchen work spaces, working to cleaning schedule as prescribed for the area.
- Cleaning of food storage areas including fridges, cool rooms and dry goods stores, ensuring that principles of food hygiene are being observed; report any hazards or concerns to Executive Chef.
- Remove rubbish regularly, ensure that kitchen and waste areas are free of refuse. Clean industrial bins on a daily basis.
- General maintenance and cleaning of the loading dock.
- Cleaning of the cutlery, plates, sink area and buffet of the employee restaurant.
- Ensure cleaning equipment is maintained in effective working order, report any faults or repairs required to the Executive Chef.
- Assist and liaise with chef on duty with basic food preparation; grating, peeling, chopping, preparing batters, garnishes and seasonings

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum 6 months experience in a similar role, preferred.
- Physically fit and able to stand for the duration of a shift (8 hours).
- Good level of fitness and ability to lift kitchen equipment over 10kg.
- Organise time and work efficiently.
- Basic English level.
- Willingness to work weekends and public holidays as part of the job role.
- Initiates contacts and establishes rapport easily.
- Has the aptitude and willingness to undertake further development with Sofitel
- Positive bubbly personality
