We are Te Whatu Ora Te Toka Tumai Auckland. We provide health and disability services to more than half a million people living in central Auckland, regional services for Northland and greater Auckland, and specialist national services for the whole of New Zealand. Our main sites are Auckland City Hospital, Greenlane Clinical Centre and Starship Children’s Hospital, located in central Auckland.

**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**
We have an exciting opportunity available for an experienced Health Psychologist or a Clinical Psychologist to join the dynamic teams in our two adult intensive care units.
This role will see you providing assessment and evidenced-based interventions for a wide range of psychological sequelae for patients and their whānau in ICUs and contributing to quality and improvement initiatives.
You will be working in both the Cardiovascular Intensive Care (CVICU) and the Department of Critical Care Medicine (DCCM).
DCCM and CVICU provide intensive care to critically unwell adults from the Auckland region and nationally. CVICU provides adult tertiary level intensive and high dependency care for cardiothoracic and vascular surgical patients and cardiology patients from the Auckland region. Quaternary level intensive care is provided for heart and lung transplant patients, and for patients requiring Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation. DCCM, on the other hand provides adult tertiary level intensive and high dependency care for patients with all other conditions. DCCM is the tertiary referral centre for patients with kidney transplant, neurological and neurosurgical problems from the Auckland region. Quaternary level intensive care is provided for patients from across New Zealand with severe liver failure, and for patients receiving liver and kidney/pancreas transplants. Both areas have about 3,700 admissions annually.

**Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills**
You will need to have:
- At least 5 years work experience following full registration as a New Zealand Registered Psychologist
- Previous experience working in acute, physical health settings
- Ideally previous experience working in critical care settings
- An ability to work competently with adults and tamariki, children.
- Flexibility to work with a team collaboratively across MDTs to meet the needs of our patients and their whānau.
- Good self-care and willingness to engage in regular supervision as this clinical mahi can be emotionally challenging and can be viscerally confronting
