This recruitment is for Permanent and Fixed-term/secondment positions available across our sites.
This advertisement is for several positions that we currently have available across our Central, North and West Sites in Tāmaki Makaurau. These sites include:
Westgate Grey Lynn
Waitākere Panmure
Ellerslie Onehunga
Ōrewa Māngere
Takapuna Ōtāhuhu

Mō te tūnga | About the role
There are different areas in which our Social Workers within the Services for Children and Families North portfolio operate:
The Intake and Assessment team work all the way through the assessments up until the Family Group Conference stages. This team investigates reports of concern and/or potential risk to tamariki.
Our Care team deal with family court orders and their more long-term objectives are working towards tamariki and whanau future outcomes.

In this fast-paced role, you will work with other social services, agencies and providers to ensure the needs of the child or young person and their family are fully met. **Key requirements of the role include**:

- Understanding and appreciation of cross-cultural practices in particular; knowledge of tikanga Māori, and Pacific peoples' culture
- A Social Worker qualification recognised by the Social Workers Registration Board (SWRB) and either Provisional Registration/Full Registration with current annual practising certificate (APC)
- Commitment to our organisational values, Te Tiriti o Waitangi, Te Toka Tumoana, Va'aifetu and Puao-te-Ata-tu
- Desire and willingness to understand the structure and protocols of other cultures and to utilise these for the benefit of our clients
- Commitment to working collaboratively as part of a team, both internally and with our external clients (Iwi and Hapū)
- Ability to preserve through period of heavy workloads in stressful situations

Oranga Tamariki offer an impartial remuneration package, that offers progression annually for experience through tenure. Annual remuneration for this position starts between $76,284 and $94,715 dependant on experience.
