**Based at Middlemore Hospital Kidz First, our paediatric SLT team provides feeding assessments and advice to the Neonatal ICU, maternity ward and children’s medical and surgical wards.**

We are seeking a part-time, fixed term Speech Language Therapist to join our Acute Allied Health team. We welcome those with experience in working with paediatric dysphagia to apply. We are a dynamic team, always driving to learn and improve the services we offer our patients.

This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside a dynamic interdisciplinary team. In this position, you will have the opportunity to provide a comprehensive speech language therapy service, including paediatric dysphagia and feeding. You will also be involved in the development and implementation of inpatient goal related plans, with the patient and their families.

We are committed to working collaboratively with carers and other health care professionals to achieve the best results for our paediatric patients. There is good support, working alongside the senior neonatal and Cleft Service Speech Language Therapists. Ideally you will be able to work autonomously, as well as part of an inter-disciplinary team and ongoing support will be provided as required. Day’s of work will be flexible, but you will be required to work on Tuesday’s, due to specific service commitments.

Counties Manukau District fully supports ongoing education and development of all employees including regular supervision, in-services and training in instrumental swallowing assessments.

**Essential**:

- New Zealand approved qualification to practice Speech-language Therapy
- Membership with NZSTA
- Videofluoroscopy experience
- 2 years minimum post qualification clinical experience working with paediatric dysphagia as a speech language therapist
- Full, clean driver’s licence

**Desired**:

- Previous clinical and professional supervision/development of staff and students
- Videofluoroscopy competence
