This new section of SH3 will bypass the existing approximately 7.4km steep, narrow and winding section of highway at Mt Messenger.
**Te** **kōwhiringa | The Opportunity**
You will liaise closely with the construction team and be responsible for the day-to-day delivery of survey tasks for their projects. Ensuring works are executed correctly, in a timely manner, handed over on time and presented to the required standard.
Applicants who are already able to work autonomously are preferred, applicants with less experience will be considered and will be fully supported while they develop. Typically, to work autonomously the applicant should be able to:
- Assess the survey requirements and determine the appropriate survey methodology and equipment to complete each survey task.
- Manage design information and construction survey datasets. Complete calculations and ensure all survey information is kept current.
- Accurately deliver fieldwork as required by the construction team to ensure construction work can be completed to the specified standard and on time.
- As built survey information is kept up to date and in the required format throughout the works.
- Ensure that sufficient survey evidence is gathered to support claims and variations. All evidence, including monthly progress claims, is presented professionally and to the contract requirements.
- Develop and maintain professional working relationships with all parties within the project and related to the contract.
- Comply with Health and Safety policies and procedures and actively support the Survey Manager to promote safety on site.
**Nga pūkenga matua | Important Skills**
- Hold a recognised qualification in Surveying, such as NZ Certificate in Land Surveying or Diploma in Surveying or Bachelor of Surveying.
- 5 years construction experience including:
- 2 years working in a New Zealand environment.
- 2 years of Tier 1 construction project experience or major infrastructure project experience preferred.
- Competent with modern survey equipment and software packages.
