**ABOUT THE ASSIGNMENT**
A prominent player in the global shipping and logistics sector is currently seeking a Temporary Assistant Accountant to enhance their finance and accounting team. This role offers a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment and provide crucial support across a range of operational accounting and finance functions. Your key tasks involve:
- Management of debtor accounts and reconciliation
- Collaborating with customer services to manage pending freight payments
- Ensuring accurate coding and approval of vendor invoices
- Reconciliation of vendor monthly statements
- Timely processing of invoices and liaison with agents
- Oversight of ship's cash requirements
- Organisation of bank runs
- Processing of customs drawbacks
