Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity
The Programme Manager is responsible for leading a collaborative approach to operationalising whānau centred immunisation programmes; with a strong focus on addressing the equity gap for Māori and Pacific communities. The role will support the implementation of Te Tiriti o Waitangi within the governance and operations of the National Immunisation Programme with a particular focus on the achievement of equity.
The role will work across the National Immunisation Programme; and with Te Whatu Ora and Te Aka Whai Ora teams as a key internal contact. Externally, the Programme Manager will support the Programme to engage meaningfully with iwi, local providers and diverse communities
- bringing strong networking and relationship skills to the table at all times.
The day-to-day work will see this role providing effective and efficient management, operational guidance, and leadership to progress innovative solutions to improve vaccination rates. An approach that enables collaboration and bringing people together around common goals for programme planning will be key. Operational guidance the Programme Manager will give will includes budget management, project planning, effective performance monitoring, evaluation and reporting and risk identification.
This role will utilise research, reports, and relationships to develop an evidence and experience based workplan to improve childhood vaccination rates in Aotearoa, innovating to deliverequitable access, experience, and outcomes.

When working on a programme or project you develop pragmatic operational advice and solutions for your team and stakeholders.
This role has a strong focus on working with whānau and tamariki Māori. Knowledge, confidence and passion for te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori is needed.
