Greenhouse Technician

We are a well-established vegetable farm located at Glenbrook-Waiuku Road, Auckland. We supply great variety of vegetables to our customers throughout the year. As our business is expected to expand, we are now hiring Two Greenhouse Technicians to join us on a permanent basis.

**About this role**:
It is a full time position in rural area in South Auckland. You will be mainly responsible for the plant nutrition, growing environment, pest management of our Greenhouse.

We will provide minimum 30 hours and maximum up to 40 hours each week and competitive hourly rate from $29.66 to $32.00.

We wish an immediate start, and we will offer a comprehensive training to you if you willing to learn.

Rough hours will be between 06:00am - 03:00pm Monday-Sundy finishing times vary due to the nature of the industry. Occasional night work and weekend work will be required.

**Main duties of this role**:

- Responsible for identify problems such as fertilizing, pest, nutrient deficiencies and weed control to maintaining optimal growing conditions;
- Monitor and control the Greenhouse temperature, humidity, and ventilation to maintain optimal growing environment.
- Ensure farm equipment and water supply systems are maintained;
- Responsible for safe handling of equipment and report any health and welfare issues;
- Selecting and planting seeds, seedlings and bulbs;
- Directing and overseeing seasonal worker's scheduled work.
- Assist the Manager in achieving agreed production and profitability targets, participating in all farm management activities as required;
- Maintain accurate record to track plant progress;
- Develop and discuss alternative and innovative strategies for planting and maintenance.

**Requirements of this role**:
No criminal record;
Good eye on details and an ability to learn fast;
A “Can-do” attitude;
Reasonable level of fitness and willingness to work hard;
No qualification or experience required but vegetable growing knowledge and experience will be beneficial; Priority will be given to local NZ
