The Children - s Haematology Oncology Centre (CHOC)
is one of two tertiary paediatric oncology centres in New Zealand. We provide
inpatient and outpatient care for up to 50 new diagnoses per year. Our regional
services provide shared care support for children and their families in the
South Island and lower North Island and we participate in high quality clinical
research programmes with most children in our service enrolled on clinical
trials.

We are looking to recruit a Clinical Nurse Specialist on a permanent part-time basis,
preferably with paediatric oncology experience (although, it is not essential)
to join our dedicated multidisciplinary team to continue to ensure the quality
care for the children within our service.
- Provide advanced clinical Paediatric expertise
- Advanced clinical care coordination of children in the service (outpatient/community and inpatient)
- Lead and support integration between services (including regions) to support a seamless journey for children and whānauNgā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience
- Current NZ nursing registration, annual practising certificate and

child health experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to
engage well.
- Effective problem solving and decision making skills.
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a multidisciplinary
team
- Able to work well under pressure
- Initiative and a proactive approach to work
- Demonstrated cultural competence
- Proven advanced clinical skills, including the ability to demonstrate clinical leadership and role model a high standard of clinical care
