Wellington City, New Zealand Miyabi Restaurant Full time

**Miyabi Restaurant** is looking for 2 full-time Japanese Cooks who are sincere, skilful, enthusiastic, and with a sufficient understanding of Japanese cuisine.

**Key Information**:

- Hourly rate is $25 per hour or above.
- 30 - 50hrs per week on the roster.
- Miyabi Restaurant opens 6 days a week and closes on every Sunday.
- Must be able to work on some weekends, Christmas and holiday seasons (Some Public Holidays may be closed).

**Basic Requirements**:

- No prior work experience required but would be an advantage if you have similar experience in the hospitality.
- On-the-job training will be provided if you are the right one.
- Be able to enjoy and thrive working very busy environment and get sense of satisfaction out of cooking.
- Long-term commitment required.
- Like to work independently with confidence.
- Time management and punctuality.
- Keep calm under pressure.

**Responsibilities**:

- Ensuring all restaurant Japanese cuisine recipes and preparation requirements are met.
- Controlling the temperatures, seasonings and flavours are to specification.
- Ensuring the quality of food and the size of food proportions.
- Ensures that all food is attractively presented at all times.
- Prepares and cook Japanese food to meet special dietary requirements.
- Ensuring the storage of foods and others meet restaurant and statutory Health and Safety requirements.
- Updating and developing new cooking techniques and procedures in accordance with the new menu.
- Maintaining a strict level of hygiene in the kitchen workstations.
- Additional duties and responsibilities related to the job may be assigned as required.
