As the External Works Manager, you will play a pivotal role in managing and enhancing the electricity distribution and external works services. Your primary responsibilities include leading the development and management of the external works program, proactively managing key customer relationships, identifying and evaluating new business opportunities, and leading strategic initiatives related to contracting growth. Other responsibilities include:

- Developing, planning, and overseeing an efficient and sustainable external works program to maintain and enhance our town's infrastructure and services.
- Proactively managing relationships with key contracting customers, ensuring their needs and expectations are met while seeking opportunities for long-term collaboration and growth.
- Identifying and evaluating new business opportunities, assess market trends, and lead initiatives to expand our contracting services and market presence.
- Driving strategic initiatives to promote the growth and success of the contracting business unit in line with our organizational objectives.
- Ensuring that external projects adhere to the highest health and safety standards, minimizing risks and promoting a safe working environment.

You are a self-starter and goal-oriented professional with exceptional leadership and organizational skills. While holding a relevant trade or tertiary qualification in electricity is desirable, your extensive practical experience demonstrates your capability and distinguishes you as an industry expert.
- You are a master of business, financial, and project management, providing the leadership required to navigate complex projects successfully. Your strategic acumen is a driving force in achieving our objectives.
- Your experience in electricity distribution design, construction, and maintenance showcases your depth of knowledge and commitment to the industry.
- Your adept project management and commercial management skills set the standard for effective project execution. You excel at orchestrating diverse teams to deliver results.
- You are adept at identifying and implementing necessary changes to improve overall business performance. Your adaptability and change management abilities drive progress.
- You have a good knowledge of NZS 3910 standard construction contracts and a practical understanding of industry rules including SM-EI.
- Full NZ Driver’s license is a must
- Due to the nature of work, both office and field based, the External Works Manager needs to be able bodied and physically fit to complete their duties safely, including compliance with the Drug and Alcohol policy._
