Following a recent change project to future-proof our Network we have a number of exciting new opportunities with our Northpower Network team. We are a leading electricity distribution network company committed to delivering reliable and sustainable energy solutions to our customers. We are currently seeking a talented Procurement and Contract Specialist to join our team.

**The opportunity**

As a Procurement and Contract Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our Network team to meet delivery targets and effectively manage both capex and opex projects. You will also role model success in several technical and people functions:

- Collaboratively develop procurement strategies to drive optimal outcomes for project works, materials, and services.
- Manage and implement Network's procurement policy and processes, including tenders and RFPs.
- Oversee supplier management, ensuring regular reviews, quality control, and performance evaluation.
- Negotiate, prepare, and execute contracts with service providers, consultants, contractors, and suppliers.
- Effectively manage critical spares inventory, maintaining data, conducting audits, and implementing improvements.
- Exceed operational, regulatory, and customer requirements while achieving performance targets and goals.
- Foster open communication and strong relationships within the team and with key stakeholders.
- Proactively contribute to continuous improvement, promoting safety and business excellence.

**Who we’re looking for**

To be considered for this role you will naturally be a people leader and possess strong interpersonal skills, as well as:

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Supply Chain, Procurement, and/or Logistics.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Supply Chain, Procurement, and/or Logistics.
- Demonstrated expertise in inventory management and procurement best practices.
- Strong commercial acumen and financial understanding.
- Excellent attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in all aspects of work.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and spoken, with the ability to influence stakeholders effectively.
- Team player with the ability to coach and upskill team members.
